Why you need a 4 inch printer ?

4-inch receipts enable printing full and comprehensive details of any transaction or delivery. With a physical print width of 104mm (4.1″) and an 80 column default font, the S4500THS allows plenty of space for text, logos, descriptions of goods etc - using a 4-inch receipt means there is no need to cut out or edit any important details. Information is clearer and improved accuracy is guaranteed.

Extra space also means the receipt or invoice can have additional uses - including adding logos, coupons and promotional information about new products, additional services etc. And of course a larger receipt is much less likely to be mislaid!

Compact and easy to use
The S4500THS gives the benefit of a wider receipt, while the printer itself is remains compact, lightweight (only 850g including paper and battery), and easy to carry. Based on Extech’s IEC 68 certified 2″ and 3″ wide printers, the S4500THS has unique over-moulding, so its robust enough to cope with the harshest of in-field printing applications.

For desktop, in-vehicle or any application where over-mouldingis not required, the compact and lightweight S4000T version is available.

High speed wireless printing

With serial and IrDA as standard and optional integrated Bluetooth™ or 802.11b modules, the S4500 offers total versatility for modern wireless printing environments. The new Lithium Ion battery in the S4500THS series delivers 2.2 amps which means even more receipts per charge. New firmware and a new, state-of-the-art mechanism gives a prints speed of 3 inches per second - one of the fastest in its class.

The S4500/S4000 printers use a brand new 32-bit Arm 7 micro-controller from ST Micro. This is a flash based, highly integrated CPU that contains firmware, resident fonts, rotated fonts, downloadable fonts, forms, graphics, logos and bar codes. It also incorporates both FLASH and SRAM memory and provides for improved performance. The printer includes 1.2MB of SRAM and 2MB of Flash memory. A new high-speed communication system allows for serial, IrDA, Bluetooth and 802.11b communication at 115K.

Easy integration

• MS-DOS and Windows™ compatible with full speed handshake
• Print Drivers available for Windows™ 95, 98, 2000 and XP
• Print Utilities available for CE (including Windows™ CE; Pocket PC, .NET); .NET CF and Palm™ based operating systems.

Other options include a 3-track magnetic card reader and/or smart card reader. In-field programming is possible using a high-speed connector located below the battery.
