Maxatec and their partner CSC supplied CognitiveTPG direct thermal barcode printers to support a new integrated printing solution across Bhs UK outlets. This move is part of an ongoing Bhs strategy to invest in technology systems to deliver excellent customer service.
The economical barcode label printers are linked and integrated into Bhs’ in-store systems. The printers are used by customer service desks for activities including barcode label printing, labels for returned garments and for cross branch transfers. As items are returned the information is sent to the label printer by a simple press of a key to produce a printed barcoded label in seconds.
The latest CognitiveTPG barcode label printers have a compact footprint so they take up less space in the stores. Direct thermal printing technology is also particularly economical because there is no need for a ribbon – and the printer’s simple operation requires little or no staff training.
