New S3750THS from Extech

Maxatec introduces the Extech S3750THS, a new portable thermal receipt printer with WiFi connectivity.

July 2004 - With exciting new features, the Extech S3750THS thermal receipt printer is at the forefront of portable printer design. A key benefit of the new Extech S3750THS is the option of an 802.11b WiFi as an interface, making it ideal for demanding portable printing applications in the increasingly prevalent wireless networked environment.

The Extech S3750THS printer uses a new version of Lithium Ion battery - delivering 2200 mAh of available power, which means an increased number of receipts per charge.

The mechanical design of the Extech S3750THS printer has IEC60068 certification, passing exacting operating standards covering temperature and humidity as well as shock, vibration and drop tests. This demonstrates that the printers are suitable for virtually any portable printing application. The Extech S3750's capacity to resist impact damage has been increased even more by a newly redesigned bottom housing.

In-field firmware re-programming is possible using a high-speed jtag connector located below the battery.

The Extech S3750THS portable receipt printer offers serial and IrDA communications as standard and Bluetooth™ or 802.11b WiFi as integrated options.

The list price for the basic model including battery and wall mounted charging adapter is the same as for the Extech S3500T. A full 12-month warranty also is included.

Highly Integrated Microcontroller by ST-Microelectronics:

• Flash based Integrated CPU contains firmware, resident fonts, rotated fonts, downloadable fonts, graphics, multiple logos, and bar codes
• Incorporates Flash and SRAM memory
• Manages all the features supported by the printer.

Low Power Precision Regulator Circuits

• 8 bit 2 channel A/D circuit to measure system and printer mechanism voltage levels, battery and thermal print head temperature
• Fail safe and CPU watchdog circuits.

Fujitsu Thermal Print Head (rated at 2" per second at 7.2V)

• Easy Load Clamshell style paper load system with pull-bar release for paper door
• Automatic thermal print contrast control (voltage and temperature dependent)
• High speed, high resolution print
• Built-in detectors to monitor voltage and paper-out.
• Fast charge circuit

• Power adapter option, auto switch to AC power when charging adapter is used
