Bhs UK Stores Upgrade their POS labelling

Maxatec has provided British Home Stores (Bhs) with 250 Del Sol 4" bar code label printers.

Maxatec has supplied Del Sol direct thermal printers to support a new integrated printing solution across 160 Bhs UK outlets. This move is part of an ongoing Bhs strategy to invest in technology systems to deliver excellent customer service.

The economical Del Sol label printers are linked and integrated into Bhs' in-store systems. The printers are used by customer service desks for activities including bar code label printing, labels for returned garments and for cross branch transfers. As items are returned the information is sent to the label printer by a simple press of a key to produce a printed bar coded label in seconds.

Maxatec has supplied Bhs with printing products for several years. The new Del Sol bar code label printers have a compact footprint so they take up less space in the stores. Direct thermal printing technology is also particularly economical because there is no need for a ribbon - and the printer's simple operation requires little or no staff training.

A spokesperson from Bhs said, "Our technology investment is an essential component in delivering effective customer service. Maxatec have provided us with a robust and low maintenance label printing solution, meaning that our staff can concentrate on the customer and not on printing problems and maintenance."

Annette Dankowski, account manager, Maxatec said, "We believe that Bhs is moving forward faster than many of its competitors and understands the need for fast, efficient service backed by leading edge technology that is typified by the Del Sol bar code label printer range."

Del Sol is the most versatile 2" and 4" bar code label printer family available. Small and fast, Del Sol delivers economical direct thermal labels in seconds. Large media capacity, easy access loading, and user replaceable printheads further assure maximum productivity.
